We continue to push ourselves to stay at the forefront of AI at Asana, transforming how teams plan, manage, and execute work more efficiently.
And at our first annual Work Innovation Summit in San Francisco, I was thrilled to unveil the next era of Asana AI - a new suite of AI teammates that tackle complex workflows and elevate teamwork.
At Asana, we’re integrating AI directly into your workflows to not only advise you on priorities, but take action on actual work and continually adapt based on how your organization operates. Here’s what we're exploring for Asana AI teammates, which is currently in beta:
1. Advise: First, they advise you where to focus by surfacing insights across your teams, projects, and work. AI teammates can identify risks, bottlenecks, and areas to improve focus - like flagging when ownership is unclear on a project, and suggesting the right people to lead related workstreams.
2. Action: Next, they take action on work. Asana AI teammates can orchestrate and execute workflows without any coding required. Imagine having AI handle the first line of review for any request, ask the right qualifying questions, ensure all relevant information is provided before kicking off a new initiative, and even do research and draft content. AI becomes a true collaborator to teams.
3. Adapt: And finally, they continually adapt to how your organization works. AI teammates can identify broken or inefficient processes, and recommend improvements to realign work and keep it on track.
Anyone can also get rich answers and guidance through our new AI chat interface, coming later this month, to better understand work details, status, next steps, and more.
Asana AI teammates are built on Asana’s Work Graph® data model, which provides the ideal structure, visibility, and context for organizations to scale AI confidently and securely. Because the Work Graph links work and workflows to higher level company objectives, AI teammates can take action with the relevant context and rules of engagement – unlike other AI solutions that aimlessly scour vast amounts of data and act based on unreliable information. Our AI also provides full transparency into how recommendations are made, so humans always remain in control.
We’re already seeing customers explore how AI teammates can tackle product launches, strategic planning, new hire onboarding, creative production, and many other initiatives. I'm excited to share some use cases and feedback from customers I heard recently:
A leading outdoor advertising company is testing how AI teammates can improve and fast-track the creative request process so they can spend more time focusing on creative flow and design. Specifically, Asana AI teammates are:
Triaging incoming requests and proactively gathering missing information
Assigning work to specific people based on context
Assisting with initial client research
Improving reporting quality with consistent data
Another customer example involves a global cybersecurity company that’s exploring how AI teammates can help execute projects and campaigns faster, which then frees up workers to focus on more strategic work. In this case, AI teammates are:
Crafting on-brand, tailored marketing content
Translating content using their internal library of brand terms
Highlighting key information about incoming requests for faster prioritization
Enforcing naming conventions to improve cross-tool compatibility
This feedback and energy around what we’re announcing is incredibly exciting for all of us here at Asana. AI teammates are being tailored for every role, every process, and every industry. Our customers are adapting them to any workflow but, importantly, they’re also keeping humans in the loop every step of the way. They never lose visibility or control around how the AI is used or any action or decisions are made.
Jennifer Korodosky, VP of Creative and Marketing Ops at Clear Channel Outdoor, reflects on the potential value of Asana AI teammates to her team: "We don't have enough time as it is. Asana's AI workflows can help streamline work so that our creatives can just focus on being creative."
"From what I've seen with AI workflows, what the efficiencies are, my mind is blown."
Relex, a supply chain and retail planning platform, is also realizing the potential value of our AI teammates to advise on areas of focus: “The ability to surface insights across applications with Asana AI will revolutionize how we launch products and campaigns,” says Adam Kite, VP of Brand, Content, & Marketing Operations.
At Asana, we believe that an organization that brings AI and people together in the natural flow of their work (as opposed to asking humans to adopt new AI tools that force new work habits) will gain a strategic advantage from an efficiency, transparency, and productivity point of view. We’re excited to help make it possible.
